Insulated, Impacted, & Influencer

Sometimes we hear and read a term that in order to grow we must learn our A B Cs; and I believe part of our life’s journey is to also find other messages in our alphabet of life. So, this message provides how life in God helps us with the 3 “I’s”: Insulated, Impacted, & Influencer. Let’s talk about it more…

2 Corinthians 1:3-5The Message
The Rescue

3-5 All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jesus the Messiah! Father of all mercy! God of all healing counsel! He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us. We have plenty of hard times that come from following the Messiah, but no more so than the good times of his healing comfort—we get a full measure of that, too.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4The Voice

All praise goes to God, Father of our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One. He is the Father of compassion, the God of all comfort. He consoles us as we endure the pain and hardship of life so that we may draw from His comfort and share it with others in their own struggles.

God provides insulation when we go through a crisis. Even while in the midst of the fire, God will provide the bubble of protection around us so that we can endure but be unscathed. This insulation, protection will create a witness for all to view the glory of God. His impact on our lives create a change for those in our sphere of influence. So, even when we feel like our backs are against the wall with no escape, if we just trust God at His word, we can see through the fog (even sometimes the doubt and fear that tries to deny us victory) to experience God’s presence. God will often carry us through and even encourages us to rest and be still so He can make ways out of no ways. What a marvelous way to live life. We have an awesome God, a faithful redeemer, and a constant comforting companion!

Daniel 3:19-27The Voice

Daniel’s friends are men of conviction. They are ready for anything the king throws at them and know that God can release them from the king’s angry grip. They just don’t know if He will. That line—“But even if He does not”—resonates with faith. Everyone wants to follow a God who does miracles-on-demand. But Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego know the one True God does not always rescue His martyrs. Still they will not back down; they will not compromise. They will follow Him and not serve Nebuchadnezzar’s gods.

19 At this Nebuchadnezzar flew into such a rage at Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego that onlookers saw his face twisted and distorted. With fury burning in his eyes, he ordered the furnace heated up seven times hotter than usual. 20 He commanded some of his strongest soldiers to tie up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego so they could be thrown into the furnace of blazing fire. 21 So the Jews were taken and tied up so quickly that they were still wearing the clothes they had on when they arrived—pants, cloaks, hats, and all.[a] Then they were picked up and thrown into the furnace of blazing fire. 22 The furnace was so hot and the king’s command carried out so quickly, without any precautions, that the soldiers who took Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego up to the furnace were themselves killed by the heat of the raging fire. 23 And the three Jews, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, tied and bound, fell into the furnace of blazing fire.

24 Nebuchadnezzar could hardly believe his eyes. Shocked, the king jumped up and asked his advisors,

Nebuchadnezzar: Didn’t we tie up and throw three men into the heart of the fire?

Advisors: Yes, O king.

Nebuchadnezzar: 25 Then why do I see four men, completely unbound, walking around in the middle of the fire? They don’t appear to be hurt at all. And the fourth . . . he appears to be like a son of the gods.

26 Then Nebuchadnezzar moved as close to the door of the furnace as he dared without being scorched. He shouted over the roar of the blazing fire.

Nebuchadnezzar: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, servants of the Most High God, come out, right now. Come here!

So the three men made their way out of the fiery furnace.

27 The officers, prefects, governors, and king’s advisors moved closer to see what had happened to these men. They, too, could hardly believe their eyes. The fire had done nothing to harm these men. Their hair was not singed. Their clothes were not scorched. They didn’t have the faintest smell of smoke on them.

I recall several times where God’s people who go through rough spots are insulated from the chaos, fire, predators, and hardships. I think of Daniel in the lions den, the 3 people in the fiery furnace, the children of Israel crossing over in the midst of the Red sea, Noah and his family in the arc. The list is ongoing. In all these times and many more not mentioned God was there to insulate us while they go through. I recall God says He is our Shepherd even if in the valley of the shadow of death. He is there.

Psalm 23:4The Voice

Even in the unending shadows of death’s darkness,
I am not overcome by fear.
Because You are with me in those dark moments,
near with Your protection and guidance,
    I am comforted.

In my personal life and journey, God insulated me from harm as I endured the treacherous attack of an unknown assailant who wanted to rape and kill me. BUT GOD stopped that and was with me. God rescued me while I went through and delivered me. Yes, I went through my personal shadow of death, still my shepherd was there protecting and guiding me so that I could get to the other side. God declares He never leaves or forsakes us. I know He has never left me alone, while I am in the midst, and in all things I acknowledge God and give Him glory. Thank you Lord! There is absolutely nothing that can separate us from the presence of our God. There is nothing we seek that can satisfy or substitute the security that God provides for our life. We are safe, provided for, and loved. God 100% is our ride and die!

Hebrews 13:5-6The Message

5-6 Don’t be obsessed with getting more material things. Be relaxed with what you have. Since God assured us, “I’ll never let you down, never walk off and leave you,” we can boldly quote,

God is there, ready to help;
I’m fearless no matter what.
Who or what can get to me?

During our times of insulation while in the midst of troubles, we have confidence that ALL of our needs are met. God takes care of us. His personal impact in our lives is one of provider, comforter, healer, deliverer, basically He takes care of us. This is our faith walk. If we trust God then everything necessary for sustenance is given. Not only to just get by but God’s desire is for us to live a victorious, thriving, and abundant life. His impact is being an all knowing, all encompassing, and our all in all. God’s word of truth creates a sure foundational impact in our lives so that we can gain wisdom to live. His impact will create in us the instructions for how we operate and navigate. Knowledge increases our wisdom that leads us to become an influencer for others. Our testimony is built while in the midst because of God’s truth that manifest. God provides for us to proclaim. All things is created by God so that we can have all things and demonstrate all things like light that dispels darkness. When we have a clear vision then we can be the visionary others need in order to align with their unique life’s purpose. Again, we have been insulated in the midst, impacted with his truth, to proclaim life and that life more abundantly as an influencer for all we encounter.

2 Timothy 3:16-17The Message

14-17 But don’t let it faze you. Stick with what you learned and believed, sure of the integrity of your teachers—why, you took in the sacred Scriptures with your mother’s milk! There’s nothing like the written Word of God for showing you the way to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another—showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God’s way. Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us.

Philippians 4:19New Living Translation

19 And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.

John 1:3-5The Message

3-5 Everything was created through him;
    nothing—not one thing!—
    came into being without him.
What came into existence was Life,
and the Life was Light to live by.
The Life-Light blazed out of the darkness;
the darkness couldn’t put it out.

2 Corinthians 9:8The Voice

God is ready to overwhelm you with more blessings than you could ever imagine so that you’ll always be taken care of in every way and you’ll have more than enough to share.

2 Corinthians 9:8New Living Translation

And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.

John 10:10The Voice

10 The thief approaches with malicious intent, looking to steal, slaughter, and destroy; I came to give life with joy and abundance.

Jonah was insulated by being swallowed by a big fish. Initially, Jonah didn’t want to heed to the call of God. Sounds like us when we want to run away from what we know to do (the right things) whether it’s pride or just selfishness. But even if we delay destiny by our own actions, God’s truth will prevail. And God because He loves us so much will always provide an insulation that leads to an impactful truth for us to personally embrace. Once we embrace truth through faith, we can then replicate our lessons learned for others who can benefit. We then become a powerful influencer that can often change the trajectory of an individual or even greater a nation. Just think our word and witness can impact a world for the better. We become the ultimate community and social influencer!

Jonah 3:4-10The Voice

Jonah had barely begun to walk the first day’s journey into the city when he stopped.

Jonah (shouting out to the people of Nineveh): After 40 days, Nineveh will be annihilated.

With that announcement, the people of Nineveh started to trust in Jonah’s God! Every person—whether young or old, rich or poor, male or female—fasted and wore a sack as a sign of remorse for his past wickednessThe people of Nineveh told each other about this, until the news made it all the way to the king of Nineveh, who ruled the entire Assyrian Empire. The king changed from his royal robes to sackcloth, and instead of sitting up high on his throne, he sat down low in the dust. He sent an official message to his subjects.

King’s Message: By order of the king of Nineveh and his nobles, “No human being, animal, cattle, or flock may taste anything. None of them may go out to eat or drink any water. Instead let both humans and animals cover themselves with sacks. Let all who belong to this empire call to God sincerely and turn from their wicked ways and violent acts. Perhaps Jonah’s God will show mercy and relent from His judgment. Perhaps out of compassion He will not unleash His fierce anger against us, and we may be spared.”

10 God saw all they did and how they turned from their evil ways. So He relented and decided not to unleash the disasters He said He would through His servant Jonah.

I am reminded that when I focus on what God’s purpose is for me and my life, then I will not fall to prey with circumstances that arise in my life. Yes, my life’s journey has had definite times of hardship (still going through today) but the most prevalent factor while I am in the midst is that All things are provided and possible to me since I believe and trust God for all things. I would continue to remind myself, be not deceived because God (nor HIS people and beloved ones – that is me and you) are not mocked. It may “seem” that we are defeated BUT GOD says NO!

2 Corinthians 9:8-11The Message

8-11 God can pour on the blessings in astonishing ways so that you’re ready for anything and everything, more than just ready to do what needs to be done. As one psalmist puts it,

He throws caution to the winds,
giving to the needy in reckless abandon.
His right-living, right-giving ways
never run out, never wear out.

This most generous God who gives seed to the farmer that becomes bread for your meals is more than extravagant with you. He gives you something you can then give away, which grows into full-formed lives, robust in God, wealthy in every way, so that you can be generous in every way, producing with us great praise to God.

Matthew 6:26-32The Voice

26 Look at the birds in the sky. They do not store food for winter. They don’t plant gardens. They do not sow or reap—and yet, they are always fed because your heavenly Father feeds them. And you are even more precious to Him than a beautiful bird. If He looks after them, of course He will look after you27 Worrying does not do any good; who here can claim to add even an hour to his life by worrying?

28 Nor should you worry about clothes. Consider the lilies of the field and how they grow. They do not work or weave or sew, and yet their garments are stunning29 Even King Solomon, dressed in his most regal garb, was not as lovely as these lilies. 30 And think about grassy fields—the grasses are here now, but they will be dead by winter. And yet God adorns them so radiantly. How much more will He clothe you, you of little faith, you who have no trust?

31 So do not consume yourselves with questions: What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear? 32 Outsiders make themselves frantic over such questions; they don’t realize that your heavenly Father knows exactly what you need.

I would say to continue to seek God first for everything. For the very air we breathe, let God be our provider. God is our very means for the minute by minute that we exists. So, with that in mind, when our understanding becomes greater than our ego and selfishness, we can then realize our global impact to influence. Yes, God has engrained in us the desire to love because we are built in and through and by His love for us. With that said, it should be a ripple effect to pass on the goodness and mercy that we receive daily from our Lord. In this stage of our journey the realization to influence happens. The joy of our Lord has become our strength. We receive a peace that surpasses our own understanding of the things that happen. We can become more than a conqueror through Christ who strengthens us. Yes, like Jabez – God provides so we can proclaim and expand the borders of our reach to whosoever will and whoever we encounter. This is the reason we exists. It is so that the message of our God permeates all sectors of our lives and those we influence. Amen Indeed!

Matthew 28:16-20The Voice

16 The eleven disciples, having spoken to the Marys, headed to Galilee, to the mountain where they were to meet Jesus. 17 When the disciples saw Jesus there, many of them fell down and worshiped, as Mary and the other Mary had done. But a few hung back. They were not sure (and who can blame them?). 18 Jesus came forward and addressed His beloved disciples.

The disciples don’t know what to think or how to act. Nothing like this has ever happened before.

Jesus: I am here speaking with all the authority of God, who has commanded Me to give you this commission19 Go out and make disciples in all the nations. Ceremonially wash them through baptism in the name of the triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. 20 Then disciple them. Form them in the practices and postures that I have taught you, and show them how to follow the commands I have laid down for you. And I will be with you, day after day, to the end of the age.

Acts 17:28-29The Message

24-29 “The God who made the world and everything in it, this Master of sky and land, doesn’t live in custom-made shrines or need the human race to run errands for him, as if he couldn’t take care of himself. He makes the creatures; the creatures don’t make him. Starting from scratch, he made the entire human race and made the earth hospitable, with plenty of time and space for living so we could seek after God, and not just grope around in the dark but actually find him. He doesn’t play hide-and-seek with us. He’s not remote; he’s near. We live and move in him, can’t get away from him! One of your poets said it well: ‘We’re the God-created.’ Well, if we are the God-created, it doesn’t make a lot of sense to think we could hire a sculptor to chisel a god out of stone for us, does it?

Acts 17:28Amplified Bible

28 For in Him we live and move and exist [that is, in Him we actually have our being], as even some of [a]your own poets have said, ‘For we also are His children.’

So, the 3 “I’s” have become one of the foundational lessons I learned on my journey called life. I share these in hopes they bring you insight, inspiration, and encouragement while you continue your daily pursuit for life and that life MORE Abundant.

John 10:10 The Message Version
6-10 Jesus told this simple story, but they had no idea what he was talking about. So he tried again. “I’ll be explicit, then. I am the Gate for the sheep. All those others are up to no good—sheep rustlers, every one of them. But the sheep didn’t listen to them. I am the Gate. Anyone who goes through me will be cared for—will freely go in and out, and find pasture. A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.
