Part Two: Insulated, Impacted, & Influencer

Have You Ever Felt Like This?

Have you ever faced a crisis that seemed insurmountable? Maybe you’ve felt like you were in the fiery furnace, surrounded by challenges that threaten to overwhelm you. In those moments, it’s natural to question how you’ll make it through, just as Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego did in Babylon. Their unwavering faith in God’s protection, even in the face of a fiery death, is a testament to the power of trust and belief in the divine.

Crisis – Trusting God in the Fire

When I encounter crises in my life, whether they be health challenges, financial struggles, or personal conflicts, it’s easy to feel consumed by fear and doubt. The story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego reminds me that God is with me in the midst of my trials. Even as the flames of adversity threaten to engulf me, His presence surrounds me like a protective shield.

Pivot – Turning to God’s Promises

In times of crisis, I am called to pivot towards God’s promises. Just as Jonah turned back to God in the belly of the fish, I too can find solace and direction in prayer and reflection. Jonah’s journey teaches me that even when I try to run from God’s will, His love and mercy pursue me. Embracing His plan for my life often requires a pivot away from my own desires towards His greater purpose.

Rebirth – Embracing New Beginnings

God’s faithfulness brings about rebirth in my life. Like the people of Nineveh who repented and turned to God, I am called to acknowledge my faults and seek His forgiveness. This process of rebirth leads to transformation and new beginnings. God’s grace is always available to guide me through my darkest hours and lead me into a new season of growth and blessing.

New-Beginnings is OUR Witness – Sharing God’s Grace

Through every crisis, pivot, and rebirth, I have the opportunity to witness God’s grace in action. Just as Daniel’s faithfulness led King Nebuchadnezzar to witness God’s power, my life can be a testament to His faithfulness. I am called to share my testimony of God’s goodness and grace, inspiring others to trust in His unfailing love.

Now, let’s do a more reflective deeper dive to our previous message.

The 3 “I’s” of Life: Insulated, Impacted, and Influencer

In our last discussion, we explored the profound concept of navigating life through the lens of the 3 “I’s”: Insulated, Impacted, and Influencer. If you missed it, you can catch up on our previous discussion here. Today, let’s delve deeper into how these principles resonate in our daily walk with God.

Insulated: God’s Protective Bubble

Have you ever felt like God surrounds you with a protective shield in times of crisis? The Bible assures us of God’s promise to insulate us, to shield us from harm even amidst life’s fiercest trials. Think about moments in your life where you felt protected by God’s presence, like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in Daniel 3:19-27. Facing a fiery furnace, they refused to compromise their faith, declaring, “Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace” (Daniel 3:17, ESV). This story illustrates how God’s protection can shield us from the flames of crisis, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual.

Crisis – Prayerful Reflection: Reflect on a time when you faced a crisis where God’s protection was evident. How did His presence comfort you during that time?

Answer: During a difficult season of health challenges, I felt overwhelmed and fearful. Yet, in those moments, God’s presence was palpable, calming my fears and giving me the assurance that He was with me, protecting me through it all.

Pivot – God’s Intervention: How did your faith pivot or change during that crisis? Did it lead to a deeper trust in God’s provision and protection?

Answer: My faith deepened as I saw God’s provision and protection unfold despite the challenges. I learned to trust Him more fully, knowing that His plans are always for my good, even in difficult circumstances.

Rebirth – New-Beginnings is OUR Witness: How can your experience of God’s protection during crises be a witness to others of His faithfulness and care?

Answer: I can share my testimony of God’s faithfulness during that time to encourage others facing similar challenges. It’s a powerful reminder that God is always with us, protecting and guiding us through every storm.

Scripture References:

  • Psalm 23:4 – “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”
  • Isaiah 43:2 – “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”

Impacted: Changed by God’s Truth

God’s impact on our lives goes beyond mere protection; it’s transformative. His truth has the power to change our hearts and minds, enabling us to navigate life’s challenges with faith and resilience. Consider Jonah, who initially resisted God’s call to preach repentance to Nineveh. In Jonah 3:4-10, we see how God’s truth impacted an entire city. Despite Jonah’s reluctance, his obedience to God’s command led to Nineveh’s repentance and God’s mercy being poured out upon them. This story reminds us that God’s truth not only changes us but also equips us to influence others for His kingdom.

Crisis – Prayerful Reflection: Reflect on a time when God’s truth transformed your perspective or actions in difficult circumstances. How did it impact your faith journey?

Answer: There was a season of doubt and uncertainty in my life where I struggled to see God’s plan. Through His Word and the encouragement of others, God’s truth gradually transformed my perspective, renewing my faith and giving me hope.

Pivot – God’s Intervention: How did you experience God’s intervention or guidance through His truth during that pivotal moment?

Answer: God’s truth became a beacon of light, guiding me through decisions and challenges. It anchored my soul and helped me trust in His perfect timing and plan.

Rebirth – New-Beginnings is OUR Witness: How can you share your testimony of God’s transformative truth to impact others in their faith journey?

Answer: I can share my story of how God’s truth brought healing and restoration in my life, inspiring others to seek His truth and experience His transformative power.

Scripture References:

  • Romans 12:2 – “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
  • 2 Corinthians 5:17 – “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”

Influencer: Proclaiming God’s Goodness

As we journey with God, His truth empowers us to become influencers in our communities and spheres of influence. Just as Daniel’s friends and Jonah proclaimed God’s power and mercy, we too are called to be influencers for Christ. In Matthew 28:16-20, known as the Great Commission, Jesus commands His disciples to go and make disciples of all nations. This call extends to us today, as we share the transformative power of God’s truth with those around us.

Crisis – Prayerful Reflection: Reflect on how you can actively influence others for Christ in your daily interactions. What challenges do you face in being an influencer for God?

Answer: I strive to influence others for Christ by living out His love and truth in my actions and words. The challenge lies in staying true to His Word amidst cultural pressures and societal norms that contradict His teachings.

Pivot – God’s Intervention: How can you pivot your focus from personal challenges to God’s commission to make disciples and proclaim His goodness?

Answer: By surrendering my fears and doubts to God, I can focus on His commission to share His love and truth boldly. It’s about trusting His strength and guidance to overcome personal challenges.

Rebirth – New-Beginnings is OUR Witness: How can you align your life’s journey with God’s calling to influence others for His kingdom? What steps can you take today?

Answer: I can commit to daily prayer and study of God’s Word, seeking His wisdom and guidance to impact others positively. By living authentically and sharing my faith journey, I can point others to Christ and His transformative power.

Scripture References:

  • Matthew 5:16 – “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
  • Acts 1:8 – “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

John 10:10 The Message Version
6-10 Jesus told this simple story, but they had no idea what he was talking about. So he tried again. “I’ll be explicit, then. I am the Gate for the sheep. All those others are up to no good—sheep rustlers, every one of them. But the sheep didn’t listen to them. I am the Gate. Anyone who goes through me will be cared for—will freely go in and out, and find pasture. A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.
