Today, February 4th, was my father’s earthly day of birth. He has hence passed on from this earthly plane into the next phase of eternal life. We often leave messages on social media post or say out loud when we recognize someone has died, Rest in Peace (R.I.P.).
I often wonder why?
The synergy of our lives should compliment God’s individualized life purpose with our actual committed, cooperative actions.
Do we really live on this earth in conjunction with our Father’s desires?
Is in the forefront of our mindset the focus to R.E.S.T.?
Can the constant external frenetic disruptions and personal internal turmoil that we daily face allow us to endure with an immovable fortitude of peace?
I am struck that even as we exists in this world there is an urgency that God beckons us to live in R.E.S.T.
With that said I dwell today on R.E.S.T.
R = Remain R = Release
E = Eternally E = Every
S = Saturated S = Sackcloth
T = Trust-Truth T = Tether
Remain is the active pursuit to dogmatically posture ourselves on the constant promise that God plans is for our good. Eternal goal and growth should be our focus. Saturating our lives in His consistent message that He never lies or desires nothing less than the best life for us is key to living the abundant life. Trust the truth of God’s unchanging word regardless of whatever new-fangled trend and fad creeps into societal norms. God never changes and nor does his command for our life. He has willed us victory and an inheritance that can not be fully realized if we seek things of this world and not things from His world.
Therefore, we must release and put far away to never take up again anything that drowns us. There used to be a television show many watched. I even watched. It was classified as a “reality show”. Peering into the life of the rich and famous that draws our soul into a concept of deceit and disillusionment.
Also, society all too often gravitates towards the status quo fad and lean towards thinking our reality is tied to this world’s method for life – a “Surreal Life.”
Today and forevermore is your opportunity to use your free will to make a decision to rest in God’s word of truth. All other messages are often cloaked with opinions and falsehood. When we try to mimic the world’s way of living, this assuredly will lead us to a path of destruction, despair, and disappointment. We were created in God’s image by His very design to trust Him completely at His word. It is only faith and obedience that pleases the Father. We have to remain confident in this fact. Rest assured that there is a peace that surpasses all of our own understanding of situations and scenarios.
Our decision must be made: Choose Life versus Choose Death.
This day will you make the best decision of your life to just TRUST God and R.E.S.T.?
“Surreal Life” – we have to remove unrealistic dreamlike fantasy of how this world’s way of achieving success is the end all and be all that dictates and defines us. The “True Life” is one laced in the unfaltering word of our creator – the one with the real Master plan and promise for our success and future. Let’s not get God’s truth twisted and entangled into a concept that is purported as reality when it is the lie’s message to be duped into carnality, immorality, frivolity, debauchery, and sensuality. The later concept for how to live leads to eternal death where no R.I.P. exists.
What is anchored to our soul and spirit that sinks our R.E.S.T.?
Do we tie ourselves to anxiety? The scriptures in (I Peter 5:7-8) warns us to release every stress, everything that would cause us to be deceived by the loud noise around us or in our heads that scares us to thinking we will die by a predator who roars us into fear. Often, we face change and challenges that may prompt us to take on a spirit of sadness, a fake reality of hopelessness with the inevitable consequence of going nowhere permanently. Remove that type of urge to be defeated. Untie the yoke that chokes out our very existence. Remove every facade of fear, fruitlessness, and feebleness. Take “all” of the things that keep you from excellent elevation into victory and throw it away. Trash that type of talk. Wipe away the wasteful thinking. Remove the raunchy rants of defeat. Kick out the killer ways, words, and walk of shame, unworthiness, weakness, and stress. You are more than a conqueror and the greater one lives in you who has defeated death!
It is time! (Ecclesiastes Chapter 3)
As we R.E.S.T., let’s focus on God’s word for how to achieve this state and the promise that is obtained when we do rest:
My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.
~Psalm 62:1-2
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
~Psalm 91:1
The Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will give rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.
~Matthew 11:28-30
Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.
~Mark 6:31
So there is a special rest still waiting for the people of God. For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world. So let us do our best to enter that rest.
~Hebrews 4:9-11
“Blessed are those who die in the Lord from now on. Yes, says the Spirit, they are blessed indeed, for they will rest from their hard work; for their good deeds will follow them.”
~Revelation 14:13
Beloved, let us strive to immerse in R.E.S.T. as we traverse this earthly journey. Let God be truth in your spirit, soul, and body. Let His L.I.F.E. remain and LIES disperse to never reappear into your mind, vision, and/or promise. Let us be whole! Let us be comforted! Let us be vigilant to knowledge that God’s plan is for an eternity of R.E.S.T.
Continue to soak, become full of His word and allow your faith that comes through hearing, listening, meditating, and acting on God’s truth be your actions as you R.E.S.T. Remember, to be at peace and that standing in a posture of rest does not mean being in a position of inaction or complacency, on the contrary; it is the anointed confidence unveiled from embracing Biblical wisdom that a life mirroring the unchanging scriptural truth can achieve on Earth as it is in Heaven. 
So, yes, R.I.P. (Rest in Peace) for those we honor that are no longer with us here in this earth! We desire in our hearts that they eternally R.I.P. Yes, for those we acknowledge that have passed from this life as we know it into this next level living to now enjoy no more pain, suffering, or distress that this earthly realm renders. Likewise, we have to strive to live now as God commands and that is seek Him while He can be found. Pray that we open our hearts to receive instructions on how to be clothed in armor that is not draped in doom, dreary, dearth but clad in praise, power, purpose, promise, precision, promise, and ultimately peace!
So, how do we delve into a position of R.E.S.T.?
First, accept it’s God’s way period. Live like He commands (die to our worldly self and live eternally in a regenerated new self). It is time for our metamorphosis.
Second, accept God’s way is contrary to what our natural inclination desires. There is a way that seems right unto man but it’s path leads to destruction and damnation (death).
Third, accept God’s way is a path pursued with persistent faith, prayerful fervency, faithful obedience, unrelenting posture to praise Him in the midst, and a posture against an alternative truth where norms/fads/trends/conformity conversely misleads us to not accept pure wisdom to be rooted only in His precepts (The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit leads us into repetent, grace, mercy, obedience, faith, and eternal life residency). Press forward to seek out how we can unmask the fake, unveil the truth, unravel the deceit, and unleash the eternal into our existence permanently.

Reside In Peace (R.I.P.) New-beginnings is Our Witness (N.O.W.) for those who currently journey on this plane until ascension into our eternal abode with God in Heaven.
It is cleansing to know how God directs our path. It is a baptism of refreshing. So much in this world boggs us down into a stressful chaotic harshness where we sometimes can’t catch a breath or break.
BUT GOD! He is able to do the exceeding, abundantly, above all we can ask or think. God did it already. So, let’s take His lead and just R.E.S.T.
I offer us some solace, sanctuary, splendor, strength, and sense for your sight-adjustment by concentrating “thinking on and meditating” on things that are above, holy, pure, encouraging, edifying, educational, inspirational, uplifting, anointed, and eternal. Saturate your being into His presence so you can exist in a realm – the real world- with Him. He is awesome! He adores you. He desires your fellowship. He aids in altering your vantage point so that you can have your eyes open up to where he dwells. His Kingdom is phenomenal. So, why contend with the trappings of this fleeting life when eternity is yours to grasp.
Yes, pursue with your entire heart the purpose you are destined to fulfill. Yes, enjoy the time you have now on this plane. Yes, go for it and get all that is your heart’s desire. In the pursuit – remember seek God first and EVERYTHING He has will be added unto you. How sweet is His R.E.S.T.
