The virtual water cooler is on fire since the Season 24 finale when a historic win by Taylor Hale happened. Why has there been so much commentary on her win? Well, she is the first non-celebrity black woman to win the largest prize ($750K) from BIG Brother. She was coined initially as a mean girl and outcast, but through the course of her journey, she navigated through a phenomenal social game to become the victor, not a victim. She defied stereotypes. She exuded grace, dignity, and resilience – courage under fire! She also became America’s Favorite Player (Houseguest) winner awarded her another $50K and a cruise. So, this portrait of an African America woman that captured the hearts and attention of many brought a new perspective and loads of conversations. Different topics ranging from race, inequity, bullying, bias, misogyny, and perceptions were addressed through the storylines presented in this season. Additionally, the historic previous season 23 laid the groundwork for more people of color to start being viewed through a different lens. And as Lizzo would sing it is about DARN (PG Version) Time!

So, below I shared some of my thoughts in an audio message and I included the visuals; as well as, some research that helped me develop this conversation starter. I also will bring this topic to a group of persons who are working to progress the actions of DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion). I look forward to reviewing your comments and welcoming them so let’s Chat it UP and get our N.O.W. Conversations beginning!

Some final thoughts I like to share are words of encouragement. I think it is important because it is a message (video) specifically speaking to the value of a woman! And really anyone and however you classify yourself needs to be reminded that you are beautiful, valuable, and worthy. It doesn’t matter how you look or how much money you have or if you were voted most popular. You may be one who lives in obscurity or the shadows and feel like you are never noticed. You may be living loudly and always in front and center. It doesn’t matter your status or position because EVERYONE is worth love and EVERYONE is worth redemption! So, I just wanted to share some positive vibes and remind you, me, and “them” to acknowledge your personal uniqueness right here and now! There is absolutely no one else like you and I am so glad about that! Your existence contributes to beauty and legacy. So, remember if you need to make the pivot to regroup, reshape, and reverse any behaviors, mindsets, and actions…the time is N.O.W.

Let us all emulate a positive person who seeks peace, love, joy, and civility one with another. It is often hard to feel recognized for the greatness and marvelous creation that you are, but this video helps reminds us (Just like Abigail reminded David who he was and whose he belonged to), let the words from this video help soothe any doubts in your heart of your worth, value, and utter importance in the world today. Update a friend shared this message today 10.2.2022 and it moved me! TRIGGERS and this is so .appropriate regarding the current post. The examples demonstrated through what we .viewed in this past season of Big Brother were shown by how “reactions” matter. Taylor Hale reacted with grace, patience, hurt, and all kinds of emotions – yet the witness was a person who persevered through it all to NOT be defeated by the angry voices. VICTRORY occurred because she did not dwell and indulge in a manner that her resultant actions destroyed her witness. She moved through the “moments” that hurt and provoked to get to the position of win (Where I Need) meaning the vision is WIN – “Where I Need” to be when this journey is over. She saw herself as a witness to the world that needs to be one of a winner who works through the angers, hurts, emotional traumas, etc. to be a light in the midst of darkness.

Will I WIN (Where I NEED) to be where I get to the WIN? Or will I lose focus of my vision to WIN (Obtain my BEST Life Ever here on Earth as it is in Heaven) and DIE (Destroyed IN Emotions)? Scripture to meditate upon is found in Habakkuk 2:2-3 The Message Version:
